Bearings – Housed
Housing units comprise cast iron or sheet steel housings with a concave bore in which insert bearings are mounted. They can compensate for static misalignment of the shaft, be relubricated if necessary and are particularly easy to fit.
These units are matched to each other and are available as plummer blocks, flanged and take up housing units. Due to the wide range of housing designs, the right solution can be found for any specific application. The classic areas of application for these bearings include the agricultural, construction & mining sectors, conveying equipment, textile, paper & woodworking machinery as well as machines for the filling, timber and packaging industries.
Housed bearing units are also available in Stainless Steel or Thermoplastic housings with stainless steel bearings. These are primarily for use in areas where moisture or aggressive media seriously degrade the life of conventional units and are therefore particularly suitable for machines and plant in the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. However, they also represent an ideal solution anywhere where frequent cleaning with water or chemical agents is necessary or the bearings are used outdoors.
